Jointex SP is a fast-curing, two-part polyurethane joint sealant designed for sealing and protecting concrete floor joints in medium to heavy-duty environments. Its semi-rigid formulation supports joint edges under traffic while still providing enough flexibility to accommodate movement, making it well suited to warehouses, production areas, loading bays and other industrial floors. Once cured, it forms a tough, durable seal that resists impact, abrasion and chemical exposure.
Packaged in convenient twin-pack units for simple mixing and application, Jointex SP flows smoothly into joints and cures rapidly to minimise disruption. The finished seal is long-lasting, easy to clean and engineered to maintain floor integrity under continuous use. This makes it a reliable choice for enhancing performance, safety and longevity across busy operational spaces.

Suitable substrates
Concrete, brickwork, blockwork, stone, timber and other porous substrates should be primed with Polycote SP Primer prior to application of Jointexâ„¢ SP. No primer is required for application to non porous surfaces such as cast iron, galvanised steel and aluminium. Painted metal surfaces do not normally need priming, but apply to a test area first to ensure compatibility.
Colour
Jointexâ„¢ SP is mid grey in colour.
Packaging
Jointexâ„¢ SP is supplied in 380ml cartridges, 12 cartridges per pack, complete with polyethylene nozzles.
Preparation
Thorough joint preparation is essential.
Any previous joint filler should be removed and all loose debris raked out. The prepared surface should be dry, clean, sound and free of flaking or loose material. Porous surfaces should be primed with Polycote SP Primer – see ‘Suitable Substrates.
Priming
A single coat of Polycote SP Primer should be applied if appropriate using a clean dry brush and allowed to dry for 60 minutes. Jointexâ„¢ SP should then be applied as soon as possible and in any case within 8 hours.
Application
1. Cut the cartridge tip carefully.
2. Attach the nozzle and cut to required bead size.
3. Apply using a standard sealant gun.
4. For bonding GRP products, apply 1–2 continuous beads to the back and press firmly into place immediately.
