Acrylic resin primer and concrete sealer for very low temperatures. To be used with Flortex MC CSG or Cretex MC CSG (inc. Deepfill version), for use between 0°C to -40°C.

MC Primer CSG is a two-part acrylic resin primer and concrete sealer with very rapid curing characteristics at low temperatures, providing a seamless, smooth, totally impervious coating with excellent chemical resistance. Its low viscosity formulation ensures maximum penetration into porous surfaces, actually strengthening the substrate.
Typical Uses
MC Primer CSG has excellent resistance against acids, alkalis, oils and a wide range of chemicals used in the process, automotive and food industries. Achieving a totally smooth, seamless finish, with high chemical resistance, MC Primer CSG is ideal for warehousing and storage facilities, cold stores, chemical and petroleum industries, food processing and manufacturing industries.
Suitable Substrates
MC Primer CSG has been developed for use on concrete, wood or cement surfaces for use where temperatures are below zero.
Colour
MC Primer CSG is colourless and translucent.
Packaging
MC Primer CSG is supplied in pre-measured quantities as a two-part system, comprising of a 5L unit of acrylic resin Part ‘A’ and a powder hardener Part ‘B’.

Pot life: 10 minutes
Application temperature: -30°C – 0°C
Cure time: 60 minutes
Number of parts supplied: 2
Coverage: 15-20m² per 5kgs unit

Please consult the technical data sheet for full technical product data.

Surface Preparation
THOROUGH SUBSTRATE PREPARATION IS ESSENTIAL.
Powerfloated concrete – use a Vacuum Assisted Shotblaster to remove weak laitence and provide a surface key for the coating. If this is not possible, chemically etch with Polycote Etch IT then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
Loose paint – remove, using a Vacuum Assisted Shotblaster, Floor Grinder or equivalent method.
Loose or friable concrete – use a Vacuum Assisted Shotblaster. If this is not possible, chemically clean with Polycote Etch IT then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
Oil or grease – use Hot Compressed Air for large areas of contamination. Smaller, isolated deposits may be chemically cleaned with Polycote Degrease IT, then rinsed thoroughly and allowed to dry.
See relevant Data Sheet prior to application.
ONCE PREPARED, THE AREA MUST BE KEPT CLEAN AND FREE OF TRAFFIC.
Caution – MC Primer CSG is methyl methacrylate based and has a characteristic odour during the vaporising of the solvent. Although non-toxic and non-injurious to health, this can cause tainting and OPEN food products should therefore be removed or sealed during and following application until the vapour has dispersed. Substrate must be clean, sound and dry, with a maximum moisture content of 5% (75% Relative Humidity).
Mixing
BEFORE MIXING THIS PRODUCT YOU MUST BE TOTALLY PREPARED for rapid uninterrupted application of the complete mixed quantity WITHIN 10 MINUTES.
Thoroughly shake the resin to ensure dispersion of the contents, making sure the cap is securely fitted. Then pour all the contents into a clean plastic bucket and add the powder hardener and stir thoroughly using a variable speed electric drill and mixing paddle for at least 3 minutes.
ENSURE THOROUGH MIXING AS AN UNMIXED PRODUCT WILL RESULT IN A POOR OR NON-CURE SITUATION.
Tip: For Cold Store Grade – the workable life of the material will be maximised if it has been stored at a very low temperature (e.g. in the cold store itself) prior to mixing.
Application
Apply by brush, roller or squeegee, making sure that the surface is completely covered. Particular attention should be given to doorways and other areas of high traffic. When finished, do NOT scrape the remaining contents from the container as this will invariably include unmixed raw resin.
Application Temperature
MC Primer CSG is designed to be applied at temperatures between -30˚ C and 0˚ C
