Colormet Adhesion Primer SB is a solvent-based acrylic tack coat specially formulated to prime smooth dense surfaces where other paint formulations would fail to adhere. Its single pack formulation and rapid drying make it a very quick and simple product to use.

Typical Uses
Colormet Adhesion Primer SB is part of Polycote’s Colormet system is normally used to prepare smooth, hard surfaces before over-coating with Colormet Ultra SB.
Suitable substrates
Colormet Adhesion Primer SB may be used on galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, glass, porcelain and other smooth, dense, nonporous surfaces.

Storage
Store in unopened containers in dry, wellventilated areas out of direct sunlight and at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC.

Preparation
All previous coatings must be removed. Clean surface by alkaline or high pressure/steam cleaning using detergents as appropriate to ensure complete removal of all grease, oil, or other surface contamination. Salts and light surface corrosion may be treated with Polycote Etch IT, see relevant Data Sheet. Ensure the surface is be clean and dry before and during application.
Application
Stir the primer thoroughly before use. Apply using a brush with long natural bristles, taking care to ensure the surface is completely covered. Ensure adequate ventilation during application.
Application Conditions
Temperature of air, substrate and product must be between 5ºC and 35ºC with relative humidity below 85%. The substrate temperature must be at least 3ºC above dew point.
Drying & Overcoating Time
The primer should be over-coated promptly after 30 minutes to avoid dust entrapment in the tacky coat. Dry to recoat within 24 hours.
