Certainly! If the installation team use Flortex Professional, they will advise that they also fill all the holes and imperfections first. The reason for this is that no floor paint is designed to fill a hole. On application, you will tend to put almost as much paint on the ‘hill’ as you do the ‘hollow’. Also, another major factor is cost due to ‘losing’ so much paint in the holes. Your coverage per unit will be drastically reduced.
1. Small imperfections, cracks, and holes.
For small imperfections and hairline cracks, our installation team will use Polycote Easifil. This is a very easy paste that will fill and cure within about 20 mins and can then be sanded and painted almost straight away. For structural cracks and hairline cracks, we recommend Polycote Crackfiller EP100
2. Holes and impact damaged areas.
Cretex EP is a quick and easy to use twin pack epoxy, suitable for all general holes and damaged floors.
Alternatively, the best way to achieve a super smooth finish is with one of our self-smoothing twin pack floor coatings – Polycote Freeflow. This is available in either an epoxy (Freeflow EP) or polyurethane formulation (Freeflow PU), depending upon customers’ requirements / final finish required and is generally applied between 1-3mm thick.
