Custom Coachworks – 191m²

Project Overview

Custom Coachworks got in touch to request installation of a complete new flooring solution at their West Sussex accident repair centre. The solution needed to withstand constant vehicular use as well as taking the weight of heavy machinery, providing both durability and long-term performance in a demanding industrial environment.

Specification

Day 1 – Preparation

Vacuum assisted diamond grinding and re-vacuum to remove residual dust. Oil tolerant OT Primer applied to seal in any oil contamination.

Day 2 – Repairs and Coating

Carry out localised repairs using Easi-Fil. Apply Flortex Professional 100% solids epoxy resin topcoat

Day 3 – Expansion Joints

Re-cut and fill expansion joints using Jointex PU.

Challenges

As an accident repair centre, oil contamination posed a significant challenge in this environment. It was essential to fully encapsulate any contaminants within the substrate to ensure proper adhesion of the Flortex Professional. Timing was also critical, as the business was extremely busy. Our installation team had to coordinate closely with the Custom Coachworks team to minimise disruption and ensure minimal downtime for the operation.

Outcome

The installation delivered a highly durable, low‑maintenance resin floor that transformed the busy garage workshop into a safer and more efficient workspace. The Polycote team’s specialist installation ensured a reliable surface able to withstand heavy use, while also improving visual clarity and workflow. As a result, the client now benefits from a professional, long-lasting floor solution that supports operational demands and enhances overall productivity.
