The Standard Grade Calcined Bauxite delivers a robust balance of skid resistance and abrasion durability, driven by its high Polished Stone Value (PSV) and low Aggregate Abrasion Value (AAV). PSV reflects how well an aggregate retains its microtexture once exposed to tyre traffic. Surfaces that experience braking, turning or heavy usage typically rely on a PSV of around 60 for acceptable safety performance. At a PSV rating of 70, this standard-grade aggregate provides significantly enhanced anti-skid capability and maintains friction through prolonged service life.
Its abrasion resistance is equally impressive. AAV determines how much wear the material will suffer under repeated abrasion, and lower numbers indicate stronger resilience. With an AAV of 1.7, this aggregate sits near the top end of hardness classifications, helping the surface remain stable, textured and resistant to polish loss. These characteristics make Standard Calcined Bauxite particularly suited to industrial coatings, anti-slip flooring and areas subjected to continuous vehicular movements.
