Polycote Transforms Milton Keynes Station Square with Vibrant Mural
We’re thrilled to share one of the most exciting projects we’ve had the privilege to be part of — the transformation of Milton Keynes Station Square through Yinka Ilori’s stunning new floor mural, “Walk With Your Dreams,” using Polycote’s Quick Coat EP epoxy paint system.
When the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) and City Council commissioned Yinka to create a piece that celebrates the city’s multicultural identity and visionary spirit, we knew it would be something extraordinary. But seeing the UK’s largest mural come to life across more than 3,000 square meters of the Station Square is truly something else.
We’re thrilled to share one of the most exciting projects we’ve had the privilege to be part of — the transformation of Milton Keynes Station Square through Yinka Ilori’s stunning new floor mural, “Walk With Your Dreams,” using Polycote’s Quick Coat EP epoxy paint system.
When the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) and City Council commissioned Yinka to create a piece that celebrates the city’s multicultural identity and visionary spirit, we knew it would be something extraordinary. But seeing the UK’s largest mural come to life across more than 3,000 square meters of the Station Square is truly something else.
At Polycote, we’re passionate about flooring – but not just any flooring. We design and manufacture coatings that combine performance, durability, and creativity. For this project, our Quick Coat EP epoxy paint system was the perfect fit. It’s an ultra-fast drying, hard-wearing coating ideal for high-traffic areas like this one.
In total, we supplied:
- 6,400kg of Quick Coat EP in 13 bespoke colours (each carefully matched to Yinka’s design)
- 936kg of OT Floor Primer to ensure strong adhesion and longevity
- 730kg of Graffitex, our water-based anti-graffiti coating, to protect the mural from damage while allowing easy cleaning if ever needed
The artistry of the design combined beautifully with the technical precision of the application. Shier Coatings, our approved installers and experts in epoxy floor systems, executed the installation flawlessly, from priming the surface to spraying the final anti-graffiti layer.
