Refurbishing and refreshing 6 industrial units for B & P Properties
Project Overview
This project was completed over 6 phases and included the full surface preparation and coating of 6 industrial warehouse units. Yes, you may have guessed it, each unit was classed as a different phase. The buildings were old and worn out but were structurally in good shape so the company chose to lease the building out and include them in a property portfolio. However to make these units more attractive and of a high quality the entire space needed refurbishing and refreshing. The floors were an obvious step for them and they completely transformed the space. The process we carried out was to thoroughly prepare the floor by means of Vacuum Assisted Shot-blasting and Diamond Grinding and then apply a high build epoxy primer and finish the areas with a solvent-free high build epoxy topcoat – Flortex Professional. Our client was very happy with the result and we have gone on to complete other areas for this same customer.
Surface Preparation – Vacuum Assisted Shot Blasting
Our Vacuum Assisted Shot Blasting and Diamond Grinding service removes weak concrete, dirt, contamination and anything that stops the coating forming a bond. The machines quickly strip coatings in large areas for quick and optimal preparation. The connected industrial vacuums suck in 95-99% of the dust.
These processes, especially shot-blasting, make them environmentally friendly as chemicals are not required and means harmful paint particles do not enter the atmosphere. By blasting an abrasive substance in a controlled pattern and direction, the concrete surface and contaminants are picked up and land in a recovery chamber.
