Typical Areas of Use

Proven in almost every industry since 1991.

Used in warehouses and showrooms, shops and factories, production areas and workshops, hospitals and schools to name but a few.

Suitable substrates

PB Floor Paint has been applied to both old and new concrete, brick, block, stone, wood and metal once the appropriate preparation is completed.

Furthermore, compatible with most previously coated substrates.

However, due to the many and varied paints on the market, we strongly advise applying a trial area to ensure a good inter-coat adhesion is achieved.

PB Non Slip Floor Paint

For extra slip resistance try PB Non Slip Paint.

It incorporates all the benefits of our standard PB Floor Paint, but also contains an extremely tough Guyanian Calcined Bauxite aggregate (well surpassing the standard aggregates used in slip resistant floor paints).

Easily withstands heavy wear and tear from constant foot traffic, pallet trucks and forklifts.

Professional Help and Advice:

We know only too well that the wear and tear of a single operative simply standing in the same area for long periods of time can have as much an effect on a floor as a fleet of forklifts in a large warehouse.

No matter if you have a large or small requirement, if you are not sure which product to use, please feel free to contact our technical experts who will establish exactly what your issues are, along with the maximum amount of downtime you can allow to complete any work. Only then will we advise the best preparation, the best primer (if necessary) and the best Floor Paint top-coat option, to meet YOUR specific needs.

Preparation:Thorough substrate preparation is essential. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other contamination. New concrete should be left for at least 3 months before painting, and a moisture check should be carried out to ensure this lies within acceptable limits. Hard concrete or granolithic surfaces should be treated with Polycote Etch IT to improve adhesion, and any surface grease or contamination chemically removed using Polycote Degrease IT. These treatments must be thoroughly rinsed off and the surface allowed to dry before painting. Pits and holes may be filled using Polycote Cretex products. Please refer to relevant Data Sheets.
Mixing:
Stir very thoroughly before use to ensure full dispersion of solids throughout the mix. Mechanical mixing is advised.
Application:
Apply by roller or brush. If the area has not previously been treated, thin the first coat with 10% White Spirit to improve penetration and adhesion working well into the surface. Apply full second coat. On previously sealed floors apply two coats. On previously painted surfaces one coat may provide adequate coverage.Avoid applying too thickly. Do not cover at a rate less than 30m2 per 5L unit. Applying polyurethane paint too thickly can prevent curing.
