Preparation
Thorough substrate preparation is essential. The concrete substrate must be a minimum of 28 days old. The substrate should be sound with a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm² and a minimum pull-off strength of 1.5 N/mm².
The surface must be clean, dry and free of contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface treatments and contain a functioning damp proof membrane. If in
doubt, apply a test area first. Concrete substrates should be mechanically prepared using vacuum enclosed abrasive blast cleaning or diamond grinding equipment to remove laitance and previous surface treatments followed by thorough vacuuming leaving an open textured surface. Weak concrete must be removed and repaired.
In order to ensure the finished system remains fully bonded to the sub-floor it is required that all terminating edges are rebated to produce a minimum cross-section
of 10mm deep by 10mm wide, running at 150mm from and parallel with the walls i.e. day joints, movement joints, floor edges, columns, door thresholds etc. When laying to falls ensure that the edge of the fall is taken to a toe in or chase.
Mixing
Empty the entire contents of the Part C aggregate component into the Part A component and mix for a minimum of two minutes using a slow speed mixing drill to form a smooth paste. Then slowly add the Part B Brown Hardener component whilst mixing to form a smooth lump-free consistency. Periodically scrape the bottom and
sides of the mixing vessel. Mix only the material required for current application.
Never mix by hand. Do not split packs.
Application
Apply by brush and short/medium piled roller at a nominal rate of 0.25kg/m². Working well into surface. Change rollers as required to ensure even application.
It is important to work efficiently as the pot life of the product is relatively quick. Do not allow material to puddle on the floor surface and remove excess primer from the
anchor points and toe-in grooves.
Flortex PU Screed Primer should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 36 hours prior to the installation of Flortex PU Screed.
The ambient temperature of the works area should be a minimum of 15°C during the application and curing period, if not adhered to this can affect the performance of the system.
Materials and substrate temperature must remain above 10°C at all times.
Storage
Store in dry conditions at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C. Do not expose to freezing conditions. Flortex PU Screed Primer has a maximum of 12 months shelf life when stored in the original, unopened containers for Part A and B. Part C has a maximum shelf life of 3 months.

Cleaning
Clean all equipment immediately after use with Polycote Solvent Cleaner for Floors and Tools.
Important Information
Protect the installed floor from damp, condensation and water for at least twenty-four hours at 20°C.
Flortex PU Screed Primer must be overlaid with twenty-four hours of application or be fully abraded and re-primed.
Ensure that the ambient temperature remains above 10°C for at least twenty-four hours after installation.
The substrate and uncured floor must be kept at least 3°C above the dew point to reduce the risk of condensation or blooming on the surface.
This product has a short pot life, and operators must ensure that they use a suitable size unit and all preparations are complete before mixing.
