It is well known that engineering workshops take a huge amount of wear and tear and are one of the most important areas to keep clean and dust free. Crucial to the success of the business enterprise, longevity and efficiency is obviously paramount. We will always be on hand to discuss any of your needs – Our coatings and screeds have been formulated to take constant wear and tear from foot traffic, pallet trucks and forklifts, even in areas that are in use 24/7.
Our installation teams are experienced with specialised oil tolerant primers, 100% solids epoxy coatings and self- smoothing screeds that have been proven on thousands of square metres of flooring in almost every type of engineering workshop or production area, throughout the UK.
What are the most common coating systems for engineering environments?
The most common systems for us to apply in an engineering environment is a high build epoxy resin coating system. These are usually a 2 or 3 coat system that enables quick return to use, but most importantly is non-porous, hard wearing, long-lasting and very chemical resistant.
If your floors are heavily contaminated with oil and lubricants, we can help you overcome this concern with specialist primers that are uniquely formulated to achieve a very strong bond and tolerate oil and dampness.
Epoxy resin coatings can be laid between 0.3mm – 3mm and we can incorporate slip-resistant aggregates to help you achieve a safe and secure working environment.
Health & Safety – Walkways & line marking
If you are just looking to bring clarity to your workshop or factory floor by creating walkways to encourage staff safety, we can help you with these enquiries as well.
Installing walkways allows you to bring in definition and makes the entire space look a lot more professional but also safe. Our non-slip aggregates can be added to reduce the chances of slippage. If you have a specific specification of PTV or SRV value that you are looking to achieve we can do this too.
We can also carry out retrospective PTV slip testing if necessary.
Chemical & oil resistance of epoxy coatings
All of our epoxy resins have a very good resistance to most chemicals and especially cleaning detergents and chemicals, so for 90% of engineering environments they are absolutely fine.
However, if you know you have a specific chemical or set of chemicals that you use, or that you would like us to be aware of before starting any project, please let us know and we will work with you to achieve the best possible outcome at the specification stage.
Our solvent free epoxy resin floor paints and coatings are all non-porous and therefore will not allow the liquids to penetrate. This also means that it will resist standing water.
